Recycling
Notebook Covers

These are made with recycled plastic bags. Not one is equal to another, but they are equally functional. I love the fact that the new "fabric" made has a soul and texture of it's own. I can plan and fuse the plastics together, but I do want to be surprised by the end result.
Textile Postcards
I have to start somewhere, and this is a good one. I made this postcard from scraps and bits that I found in my dustbin.

Postcards are vehicles of small messages, stories and images that one sends to another. I love the fact that these can be understood differently by the viewer depending not only on the light but by the mood at the time.
And for a month I made postcards using scraps of fabrics, plastics, threads, paper... anything I could get my hand on. I fused, sewed, glued, ripped enthusiastically as if each was a miniature of a feeling I could not describe in words.
